Matt has made news with his crazy schemes for the Brigade alliance that don’t work; his asinine idea that pretending his wife has a rare but deadly disease will help him avoid eviction, and his tattoos.

Julie Chen interviewed his wife on the live show tonight, and she basically said that Matt doesn’t think like other people do. She thinks it’s wrong what he did, trying to pretend that she is deathly ill, but she clearly loves her husband and by the way. If you saw the show, have you ever seen such a mouthful of white teeth like what she has in her mouth?

“He’s extremely intelligent but he lacks all common sense,” Hoffman’s wife Stacy said on the air tonight.

That about sums it up. Was it just me or did she seem a little slow?

Drew Carey debuted a strikingly slim figure at a party in Los Angeles last night, picture above right. The photo on the left is from a mere five months ago, when Carey celebrated his 500th episode of ‘The Price is Right.’ This new development is arguably the healthiest that Carey, 52, has ever looked in his 15-plus years on TV. Kind of reminds us of John Goodman’s recent transformation!

110diggsdigg In May, the National Enquirer wrote that Carey was using appetite-suppressing injections prescribed by a nutritionist. The Enquirer reported Carey as saying, “I now have no desire to eat…I can hardly even get down the tiny portion of fish I’m supposed to have for dinner.”

“Carey claims to have shed all his weight the old fashioned way, through diet and exercise,” the UK’s Daily Mail reports.

The former ‘Drew Carey Show’ star has hosted ‘The Price Is Right’ since 2007, when he took over for five-decade host Bob Barker. The 86-year-old Barker supposedly took a jab at Carey’s hosting style when grilled by a TMZ cameraman earlier this week, but quickly cleared things up the next day, telling Entertainment Weekly, “He’s a charming man, and kind and gracious. To think that I would say anything derogatory about him is idiocy.”

“She’s definitely pregnant… Miranda’s thrilled,” says a source close to the Victoria’s Secret model. “She’s telling all her friends, mostly other models, about it.” The friend also says the pair don’t plan to make an official announcement though as she gets further along, it will obviously be harder to hide.

“She poses in lingerie,” says the friend “It will be obvious soon enough.”
The supermodel is very excited about having kids. “I have always been very open about wanting to be a mother one day. And I’ve always thought Orlando would be a great dad!” she recently told an Australian newspaper.

Bloom and Kerr secretly wed at an undisclosed location last week after announcing their engagement in June. The two honeymooned in the Caribbean.

The entire cast is intact and now filming Season 3, to boot … and then some. Deena Nicole, a self-proclaimed “Bad Ass Brunette,” will play a big role.

Where did the new star come from? Sources say she was already BFFs with Snooki and seems like she’s going to fit in well with the rest of the cast.

Deena, real name is Deena Nicole Cortese, and is good friends with Snooki, who helped get her cast. She was also hangin’ with J-Woww on Saturday.

The 23-year-old is a former cheerleader who was on the squad at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, N.J. She went to New Egypt High School.

Jersey Shore’s new girl looks like … the other Jersey Shore girls.

Maybe Garden State Governor Chris Christie, who recently called out the show, will be satisfied that they added another bona fide Jersey-ite at least.

Well, at least until he sees Deena Nicole’s racy MySpace page, which is filled with profanity-laced proclamations and sexy shots of her drinking, etc.

“I don’t give a f**k,” is interspersed with sexy pics and quotes like “I’m addictive and expensive like cocaine. I should just have my own TV show!”

The foul-mouthed female also recorded a video blog on her MySpace page in 2008, in which she rants about the way she’s been treated by dudes.

Swearing revenge, she says, “we’re gonna play you out, n**ga.”

Yup, sounds like she should fit in fine with Ronnie Magro & Co.

Sources close to production confirm Deena will be appearing in a number of episodes in Season 3, but isn’t considered a “permanent” cast member.

Kanye West joined the Twitterverse on Wednesday — and the Online World just about stopped spinning.

In just two hours, the man now known to the micro-blogging masses as @KanyeWest has already collected 34,000+ followers and the number grows steadily with each passing moment.

Rest assured it is the real Yeezy responding to your feverish comments because in his Opening Tweets he showed that his mind is always on the boobs. Figures.

“Up early in the morning taking meetings in Silicone Valley,” he wrote before correcting himself. “I spelled Silicon wrong. (I guess I was thinking about the other silicone It’s A PROCESS!!).”

“Growing Up Twisted” (A&E, 10 tonight) makes the same point with a different family, that of Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider. The show features Snider, his wife of 34 years Suzette, and their four kids.

You could say the Snider family is a cross between “Meet the Osbournes” and “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” (also on A&E). The Sniders are foul-mouthed, like the Osbournes. Suzette is a blonde bombshell like Simmons’ former Playboy model partner Shannon Tweed, although while Tweed clothes are mature sexy, Suzette dresses fairly close in style to the 15-year-old hootchie-clad bad girl she must have been when she hooked up with Dee.

Life is fairly traditional. This is a family that clearly loves each other. The first episode centers around the couple’s anniversary. Dee, we learn, is a softie romantic still crazy for his wife. Suzanne loves him too, but is the boss. She thinks tattoos are white trash and won’t allow the kids to have them. She doesn’t however mind telling them about the fun of dying her pubic hair pink.

Oldest son Jesse is a musician like dad. He and wife Patty have a young daughter. (That’s right Dee and Suzette are grandparents.) Jesse seems level-headed. Cody, on the other hand, comes across as a hot-tempered meat head. Shane wants to be a standup; something’s there, but it needs a lot more work. Daughter Cheyenne is 14, and probably spoiled. She has a meltdown when mom tries to take down the rusty, decade-old trampoline of her childhood. “It means something to me!” she wails. Dad promptly repairs it.

While there are some undeniably sweet moments in “Growing Up Twisted,” it’s not that interesting; Dee is no Ozzy, Suzette no Sharon. We’ve been down this road before and seen it done better.

A replacement for McPherson is expected to be announced shortly, the network announced, though multiple reports say that ABC Family President Paul Lee is expected to fill the bill.  McPherson oversaw all of ABC’s primetime lineup, as well as its sister company ABC Studios.

The news about the shakeup in the executive suite comes only days before ABC is set to unveil its fall lineup to the nation’s TV critics and reporters at the annual Television Critics Tour in Beverly Hills. Rumors about McPherson’s departure hit a fever pitch this year after reports surfaced that Disney Chief Bob Iger was going to focus his attention on the network’s performance. ABC finished the season in third place among viewers (8.7 million) but was down 3 percent versus last year. It tied NBC for third place among adults 18-49, but was down 7%.

McPherson helped to build a promising new night of comedies on Wednesdays this year that included the critically beloved Modern Family - which is up for 14 Emmys on Aug. 29, including Outstanding Comedy.  But success in finding another buzz-worthy drama in the vein of Lost has eluded the talented though sometimes volatile executive; V was renewed for a second season but its ratings remain low and FlashForward was canceled after only one year of heavy hype and disappointing viewership levels. Meanwhile, ABC’s once-hot shows like Desperate Housewives, Grey’s Anatomy and Brothers & Sisters are showing serious signs of age, and the network has yet to develop another big reality show in the vein of the still relevant Dancing with the Stars.

ABC’s fall lineup shows some promise: No Ordinary Family is a drama about a clan of superheroes and it stars Michael Chiklis, one of the most sought-after actors during this development season.

A private jet flown by Roush Fenway Racing co-owner Jack Roush crashed while landing at an airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin Tuesday evening. Along with Roush, his friend Brenda Strickland was also on the plane when it crashed.

According to multiple reports, Roush was trying to land his twin-engine Beechcraft Premier 1A at Wittman Regional Airport about 7:15 p.m. ET Tuesday. He was scheduled to take part in the Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture this week.

A pilot who says he witnessed the crash says the jet was about to land, then began a go-around maneuver. At that point, one of the wings dropped, the plane fell to the runway and broke in half.

Thankfully, Roush is listed in serious but stable condition, while Strickland suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Roush is an experienced pilot but this isn’t his first crash.

Roush, an experienced pilot, suffered serious injuries in a plane crash near Talladega, Ala., in 2002. He was flying his P-51 aircraft when it crashed into a lake. Roush was unconscious and would have drowned, but he was pulled from the water by Larry Hicks, a retired marine who lived nearby and saw the crash.

Jack Tatum was one of the hardest hitters in the NFL, a Pro Bowl safety who intimidated opposing players with bone-jarring tackles that helped make his Oakland Raiders one of the toughest teams of its era.

He’s also a player who will always be tied to one of the game’s most tragic moments — a hit in a preseason game that left New England Patriots receiver Darryl Stingley paralyzed from the neck down.

Tatum died Tuesday at age 61 in an Oakland hospital. The cause was a massive heart attack, according to friend and former Ohio State teammate John Hicks. Tatum had battled diabetes and other health problems for years, Hicks said.

The collision with Stingley happened Aug. 12, 1978, at Oakland Coliseum.

Stingley was cutting inside when he lunged for a pass which fell incomplete. Bearing down at full speed from the opposite direction, Tatum met Stingley while the receiver was off balance and leaning forward. Stingley crumpled to the ground, his fourth and fifth vertebrae severed.

Over the years, Stingley would regain limited use of his body, but he spent the rest of his life in an electric wheelchair. He died in 2007.

There were never words of consolation or an apology from Tatum, and the two players never spoke after the hit.

“It was tough on him, too,” Hicks said of Tatum. “He wasn’t the same person after that [hit]. For years he was almost a recluse.”

Tatum said he tried to visit Stingley at an Oakland hospital shortly after the hit but was turned away by Stingley’s family.

“It’s not so much that Darryl doesn’t want to, but it’s the people around him,” Tatum told the Oakland Tribune in 2004. “So we haven’t been able to get through that. Every time we plan something, it gets messed up. Getting to him or him getting back to me, it never happens.”

Tatum, though, showed no remorse for his headhunting ways in a 1980 book, “They Call Me Assassin” and the follow-ups “They Still Call Me Assassin: Here We Go Again” in 1989 and “Final Confessions of an NFL Assassin” in 1996.

“Jack was a true Raider champion and a true Raider warrior. … Jack was the standard bearer and an inspiration for the position of safety throughout college and professional football,” the Raiders said in a statement.

After starring for Ohio State under coach Woody Hayes, Tatum was drafted in the first round by the Raiders in 1971. In nine seasons with Oakland, he started 106 of 120 games, had 30 interceptions and helped the Raiders win the 1976 Super Bowl. He played his final season with the Houston Oilers in 1980.

In his third book, he wrote, “I understand why Darryl is considered the victim. But I’ll never understand why some people look at me as the villain.”

Tatum was not penalized on the play and the NFL took no disciplinary action, but it did tighten its rules on violent hits.

“He wasn’t the type of person who was really out trying to maim anybody or hurt anybody,” Hall of Famer and former Raiders teammate Willie Brown said. “He was just doing his job. That’s the way he played the game.”

Despite their lingering resentment, Stingley was gracious in 2003 when he learned Tatum had diabetes and several toes amputated.

“You can’t, as a human being, feel happy about something like that happening to another human being,” Stingley told The Boston Globe.

Tatum began a charitable group to help kids with diabetes and helped raise more than $1.4 million to fight the disease in the Columbus area.

“He was a good athlete and a good person,” Hicks said. “He gave a lot back to the community, but he didn’t want a lot said about it.”

Tatum was also involved in “The Immaculate Reception” in the Raiders’ 1972 playoff loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. With 22 seconds left, Tatum jarred loose a desperation pass from Terry Bradshaw to Frenchy Fuqua with a trademark hit. The ball ricocheted into the arms of Steelers running back Franco Harris, who never broke stride and ran 42 yards for the winning touchdown.

Tatum grew up in Passaic, N.J. and had little interest in organized sports until high school. He grew to love football and was offered a scholarship to Ohio State.

Recruited as a running back, Tatum would sneak over to the defensive side to play linebacker. In time, the Ohio State coaches — particularly secondary coach Lou Holtz — recognized that Tatum was a natural on defense.

Tatum was a part of the “super sophs” class that led Ohio State to an unbeaten season and the national championship in 1968. He stole the headlines in the Buckeyes’ showdown with No. 1 Purdue early in the season, shadowing All-American running back Leroy Keyes in Ohio State’s 13-0 upset of the Boilermakers.

In his three years as a starter, Tatum’s teams went 27-2 and won two Big Ten titles.

Each week after an Ohio State game, the coaching staff awards the “Jack Tatum hit of the week” award for the hardest tackle or block by a Buckeye.

“We have lost one of our greatest Buckeyes,” current Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said in a statement. “When you think of Ohio State defense, the first name that comes to mind is Jack Tatum. His loss touches every era of Ohio State players and fans.”

Raiders safety Michael Huff sent a message on Twitter after learning of Tatum’s death: “R.I.P. Jack Tatum the assassin. One of the best safetys to ever play this game, his legacy will live forever.”

It was unfortunate that Tatum’s hitting overshadowed how well he did everything else, Brown said.

“Jack should be in the Hall of Fame. There’s no question, no doubt about it,” he said. “When you’re playing back in the middle, you have one job to do [and] that’s stop the long pass right down the middle. He did that better than anybody that I could think of.”

Yet Jean’s charity, Yele Haiti Foundation, has been accused of being a poorly-run organization with lax financial accountability. Gawker has accused Jean of paying his mistress $105,000 through Yele, and The Smoking Gun alleges that Yele has made Jean even richer.

In January, Jean gave an impassioned defense of his work. “Have we made mistakes before? Yes. Did I ever use Yele money for personal benefit? Absolutely not,” he said.

Whatever you think of Jean, let’s hope reality will not fulfill the eerie portents of Jean’s own song, “President,” if he indeed becomes the leader of Haiti:
