Congrats to Darin Brooks for his win as Outstanding Younger Actor and his funny speech! How cute was he with his win and the reaction he had after realizing he made a boo boo?

Brooks became the first Days of Our Lives actor to win Outstanding Younger Actor since Billy Warlock won in 1988. He won out over fellow Days of Our Lives star Blake BerrisAll My Children’s Cornelius Smith Jr., Guiding Light’s EJ Bonilla and  2007 Daytime Emmy Younger Actor winner Bryton James (McClure).

The irony is that One Life to Live’s Kristen Alderson and Brandon Buddy–both snubbed of nominations this year–presented the award.

Brooks to star in Spike TV’s upcoming Blue Mountain.

Congrats to Tamara Braun, such a sweet speech. The odds were in her favor to win this award since the actress had stints on both Days of Our Lives and All My Children.

Most Emmy predictions for this category–including Daytime Confidential’s Luke and Jamey–had anticipated One Life to Live’s Bree Williamson winning the award, though Jamey had said Braun should win it.

Braun’s win marks the third win Days of Our Lives has had in the category. Suzanne Rogers won the first Outstanding Supporting Actress award in 1979 and Leann Hunley won the award in 1986.

OUTSTANDING SUPPORTING ACTRESS

Melissa Clare Egan – All My Children

Alicia Mishew – All My Children

Julie Pinson – As the World Turns

Tamara Braun – Days of Our Lives*

Bree Williamson – One Life to Live
